X-ray treatment is a technology that combines the advantages of gamma rays and beta rays. Gamma treatment is an ionization sterilization process, meaning it works by energy absorption. Beta radiation sterilization uses electron beams.
In comparison, the X-ray sterilization process has a treatment speed as fast as beta sterilization and a penetration rate as significant as gamma irradiation.
Products to be sterilized pass under a X-ray beam. They are conveyed on pallets, irradiated from both sides to sterilize the entire load. This process eliminates all microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores. This use of ionizing radiation is particularly suited for sterilizing a broad range of medical devices, surgical instruments, and pharmaceutical products without altering their appearance or properties.
Within the IONISOS group, we process your products at 12 different sites, seven of which are located in France. Each site is dedicated to a specific sterilization technique.
To launch the X-ray beam treatment, a new site was chosen. This new treatment center will be located in Henriville, Moselle. The location is strategic as it is at a European crossroads that allows easy and quick access for companies located in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.
Our other French sites are located in Chaumesnil, Civrieux d’Azergues, Dagneux, Gien, Pouzauges, and Sablé-sur-Sarthe. Our group also has several sites in Europe, specifically in Germany, Spain, and Estonia.
